My Soul To Take Review

Hey guys!
Like I said in the review for The City of Bones, I finished My Soul To Take! Yay! Hahaha. Well, here is the review that  I promised to you. Wait... Did I promise? No, I didn't. So, here's the review I told you about. ;)

Book Cover:

Review:
This book was thrilling and exciting. It introduced a new kind of creature. Well at least I've never heard of them. :) They're called... bean sidhes! Cool huh? Wanna know they do or are like? Well you gotta read this series. Hahaha. I'm not gonna spill the beans.

Kaylee (love that name hehe) is so strong. Having that scream itching it's way up her throat and trying to force it out of her must be so hard to contain. Yet, she does somehow. And seeing those. Those.... Things. How does she bare it?! It's freaky! And she is so forgiving. With what her dad has done to her. Yeah, I'd probably forgive him too. And that awful guilt she must feel. The guilt of letting those people die. Now, to add the blame of her mother's death to that gut renching guilt of the rest could just destroy you. But she survives. Of course everyone denies that it is her fault. She still can't help but blame herself. I feel awful for her. Then again she is the typical YA heroine. Sassy, strong, brave, and with an awful tragic past. Plus a ton of guilt and blame.

Nash. Oh Nash. How I fall for you. hehehe. Who wouldn't? Just read the book and you'd understand. Nash the wonderful. Nash the understanding. Nash the brave. Nash the best! OK, OK. I just made all that up. But seriously, all those words describe him. I'm not joking! He's perfect! He's wonderful. He's the typical male lead in a YA book.

Aiden. You are soooo right! You shouldn't have ever, EVER abandoned Kaylee! How dare you?! You had 16 years to make it all right. SIXTEEN! But the only reason you chose now was because Aunt Val forced you to. How could you?! What kind of father are you?! Why on EARTH would you do that?! Good heavens you're so.... so.... Ugh! Gosh. Why? Why'd you think like that? *sobbing/begging* Why'd you leave her? She was your miracle. You said so yourself. You practically just threw away her mom and your wife's sacrifice. Why? Why?

*sniffs and wipes away tears* Well, as you can see from my little dramatic breakdown ^up there^, I loved it a lot. Maybe too much. No, there's no such thing as too much love. Never ever ever. Good job  Rachel Vincent. That is all have to say to you. Good job.

Rating
Did this book meet my high expectations? Yes it did. Actually, I didn't know what to expect from this book. I had absolutely no idea. But it was great. ^_^
Would I recommend this and to who? Yes I would. Like Kirkus Reviews said, Twilight fans will love this. Um... So aside for Twilight fans, I'd say romance, paranormal, and YA fans. Hm... that seems to be who most of my recommendations are for. I'll be fixing that soon. I promise. :)

That's it for now. Good reading! hehe. Never said that before. :P

The City of Bones Review

Hey guys! I finished The City of Bones a few days ago, but am writing this now! Yay! hahaha. Sadly, I don't have the next book with me to read at the moment. :( And I just finished reading My Soul to Take. That review is coming right after I finish writing this and that. I'll have to read my e-books for now then.

Book Cover:

Review:
This is a brilliant world to slip into and explore. It's cool and amazing. It has several twists. I love the motorcycles. I wish I had one for the night. Hehe. Especially if it comes with Jace. It's a package deal. ;) OK, enough about my little fantasy. There was one part where they mentioned Abbadon. I was like Oh. My. Gosh. Because Jack Force from Blue Bloods was Abbadon, so that got my little worlds to get mixed and stuff and I was like ahhh! So back to reality/the book, it's just great.

The little twist between Clary and Jace really pissed me off! Why?! Why?! Don't worry, I won't tell you guys what it is. You have to read it to find out. My lips are sealed. hehe. Trust me if  you are a fan of Clary and Jace you'll be just as disappointed and mad. Why'd Valentine have to ruin it! I still don't believe Valentine. I'll need Jocelyn to prove it. Even then I won't be too sure. Maybe they'll convince me in the next installment.

I always knew that Luke was a good guy, which I had him as my uncle-ish person. :P Though, I would never guess that he is that. Now Hodge. Boy, he sure is full of surprises, hey? I wouldn't want him to be my uncle-ish person. I would be so mad. In the beginning I'd be fine, but the end gosh I'd want to kill him. Hahaha. Don't worry, I'm not going crazy murderer on you guys or anything. ;)

When I was reading about Magnus Bane and Alec, I wanted to laugh so bad but couldn't. I don't find anything wrong with them or anything. It's just funny about how they acted. Like here (little teaser :D): He dropped a glittery wink at Alec, who looked astounded. "Call me?" I just think that that was funny. I think Jace figured it out, but has kept his mouth shut. If not, man he must be blinded. xD

Cassandra Clare has great narrative skills. The story was told wonderfully. Her word choice was great. It wasn't too simple like a children book. Nor was it too complicated like... A dictionary? :P OK, OK. Like... Shakespear? I can't really think of any... It was somewhere in the middle and it sounded totally natural. Good job Cassandra!

Rating
Did this book meet my high expectations? I met a great deal of it, though it could be better which is why it is only 4 stars not 5. I really wish she hadn't made that little twist between Jace and Clary.
Would I recommend this book and to who? Yep. I would. Just to who? I'm not so sure. I guess just anyone who loves YA. Be prepared for a huge twist though. That really could piss you off and just make you not want to read any further, but just stick with us okay? :)

Alright. Bye!

Teaser Tuesday #3

Hey guys! :D

I'm back with another teaser! Yay! Hehehe. I was supposed to do an In My Mailbox yesterday, but I didn't get anything so I couldn't do one.
Here is what you do:

· Grab your current read

· Open to a random page

· Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

· BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

· Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:

"I nodded but wasn't sure that I actually could. My head rang with the echo of screams unvoiced, my legs wobbled, and my free hand grasped the air. A soft, high-pitched mewling leaked from me now, the song seeping through my imperfectly sealed lips. And with it came a familiar darkness, that odd gray filter overlaying my vision. The world felt like it was closing in on me, while something else-anomalous forms and a world no one else could see-seemed to unfold before my eyes."
"He's just trying to make me look like an idiot," the reaper snapped. "But I have stories that make him look even worse, so keep that in mind, soul snatcher, next time you go shooting off your mouth."
~ My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent
Okay, that's it. Hope you enjoy My Soul to Take if you decide to read it. :)

Shelf Candy #2

This is Shelf Candy! A weekly meme hosted by Five Alarm Book Reviews. Click here for the rules and how you can participate. :)
Every week I will be posting a fun cover of a book. Some I may have read. Others I haven't.

Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink

I think that the cover is great for the book. It goes perfectly along with the story. The era is correct, the way the sisters look is great (the eyes are really perfect), and the font works. I also like how they put the praise at the bottom in just that black thing so it's not in the way of the cover photography.

Summery:
An ancient prophecy divides two sisters-

One good...

One evil...

Who will prevail?

Twin sisters Lia and Alice Milthorpe have just become orphans. They have also become enemies. As they discover their roles in a prophecy that has turned generations of sisters against each other, the girls find themselves entangled in a mystery that involves a tattoo-like mark, their parents' deaths, a boy, a book, and a lifetime of secrets.

Lia and Alice don't know whom they can trust.

They just know they can't trust each other.

My Teasers:
"Her heart had begun to beat with a rapid, steady sharpness. If a rune could bring a painting to life, then maybe-"
"All you've ever needed is your pencils and your imaginary worlds. So many times I've had to say things six, seven times before you'd even respond, you were so far away. And then you'd turn to me and smile that funny smile, and I'd know you'd forgotten all about me and just remembeed-but I was never mad at you."

Hey guys! I haven't done this in like forever (okay, just a few months). :) Anyways here it is! :)

So, I bought the book My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent yesterday. It is the first book in the Soul Screamers series. I can't wait to read it. There would be more, but I just moved so I didn't get to buy many books... Sorry.

Shelf Candy #1

This is Shelf Candy! A weekly meme hosted by Five Alarm Book Reviews. Click here for the rules and how you can participate. :)
Every week I will be posting a fun cover of a book. Some I may have read. Others I haven't.
I was supposed to do this yesterday but I didn't so I'm doing it today! :P Now, to the CANDY! xD

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I think the cover is really cool how they have the man just standing there over the city. You can tell it's one of the characters (for those who haven't read the book yet, I won't say who it is). It helps those without that good of an imagination figure out what the character is supposed to look like. I just think the whole cover is cool.

Summery:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

The Goddess Test Review

Hey guys! I finished reading The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter last night and so here's my review! :) Of course, now I want the next book in the series. I'm just dieing to read what's next, but I can't get it yet. At least I have time to read other books for now. At the moment I am currently reading The City of Bones. Glad I can finally read this. :P Oh and I finished The Van Alen Legacy! Yay! hehe >.<

Book Cover:

Review:
This book was so interesting and fun. It made me want to study Greek mythology again, not that I ever stopped wanting to. It just boosted my love for Greek mythology. It even caused me to gain a  new favorite god! Hades! It used to be Zeus, then Poseidon, and now Hades. Haha the main three! :P I used to absolutely hate Hades, but then I started to like him and now look what's happened! He just bumped up to #1 on my favorite gods and goddesses lists. Woo hoo! You go Hades! hahaha.

I would've never guessed what the 7 tests were. I had absolutely no idea. Kate is so smart to be able to figure it out. Henry is so brave to tell her what one of them are - don't worry, my lips are sealed! Just telling her could've ruined everything. Then again not telling her could've caused her to fail... So, I guess he did the right thing by telling her! :P Man, there are so many risks.

It's a good thing that the council decided to remain hidden and blend in until she finished the tests or she would've freaked right there on the spot in front of everyone. Well, she may not have freaked. Okay, she probably would've since she was already so nervous and forgot to breathe when she was at the door!

Kate is so kind and brave. I mean, gosh. How could she not break down? First her mom is dieing. Then she witnesses the death of Ava and her coming back to life, find out she is supposed to try to take Persephone's place, having to say goodbye to her good friend James, then to have Ava die again and said to not be able to come back to life, then meeting Ava at Eden Manor, then the murder that there was, trying to pass the tests, dieing, coming back to life, saying goodbye to her mom, facing the council (the 14 main Greek gods and goddesses), and several other things! How is it she is still going! She really sure does push herself to the limit. She is so strong to be able to do that!

Calliope.. Wow. Just wow. She sure is full of surprises, isn't she? I wasn't sure what she was. Was she a muse or just some poor girl who died? The reason for my confusion is that Calliope is the name of a muse. The muse's domain is epic poetry. Now, it's silly of me to think that but I just love muses so much that when I read her name I got all excited hoping she was a muse. They never did talk about muses in there so I decided she was just a dead human somewhere along the road. She sure is smart like the muse. Calliope, the muse, is supposed to be the smartest of the muses.

The fact that she knew everyone who was on the council really bugged me. Especially who Demeter, Aphrodite, and Hera were. But it was alright I suppose. I'm surprised she could figure out who Hades and Demeter were. It was kinda obvious who Poseidon and Zeus were. After hearing what Aphrodite said about whether or not she passed Aphrodite's test, I'm surprised Kate still didn't know that she was Aphrodite.

Rating

Did this book reach my high expectations? Yeah. It did great. There are flaws though, but it was still an excellent story.

Would I recommend this book and to who? Sure I would. I'd recommend it to people who enjoy reading about Greek mythology, YA books, and romance.

Alright! Bye!

Inkspell Review

Hey guys! I finished Inkspell sometime in June, but I didn't write the review because I was too lazy to. I wanted to write it, but I was too lazy to actually do it. :P I don't have Inkdeath just yet, but I'd love to read it soon.

Book Cover:

Review:
Inkspell is such a fun and sad story. There's a lot of death in it, because there is a battle. Cornelia did great in writing this and keeping the characters true to who they are, although Mo had changed a bit but that is part of the plot. There are truely some sad parts. I even cried because of some of it.

What angers me in this books, is how Farid makes Maggie do all these things that she knows she shouldn't do. It also angers me how Fenoglio makes such silly decisions and makes Maggie read things she knows she shouldn't. However that is life. People make silly decisions upon silly reasons. They make others do things that could hurt them emotionally or physically because of their wants.

Cornelia was so smart in making a story within a story. How creative?! Especially since they actually enter the story rather than simply tell it. Cool, right? I wish I could enter a story and see it through my own eyes, not just slipping into the character's skin.

Maggie has such a kind heart that she couldn't dare hurt Farid or Fenoglio and I feel like they use that against her. But then again it is also her arrogance that caused her to enter the story in the first place. But still, Fenoglio and Farid shouldn't ask her to do those things. They knew for sure that she would say yes, becuase of how kind she is. I feel bad that she has to go through all that pain. It isn't just homesickness. It is also the terror and injuries that are happening to her and her love ones.

Mortimer (Mo) is so brave. The way he battles. It seems like it could be his passion though we all know it isn't. His passion is bookbinding. After all he is the "book doctor". No one has ever seen him like he is there.

The previous book in the series was made a movie and so I wonder, why isn't this one? It should be! It would be wonderful to watch this. Though nothing is as good as one's imagination. Even with that said, it would still be cool to watch this as a movie. What went wrong? Did something bad happen to Inkheart the movie? Were there just too many bad remarks that made them not want to make the sequel? It's a shame that the other one hasn't been made. I hope it does sometime in the near future.

Did this book meet my high expectations? Yes it did. Of course like everything, it could use some tweeking.
Would you recommend this book and to who? Yeah. This would be good to anyone who likes to read YA books or would like anything different.

Masquerade Review

Hey guys! I finished reading Masquerade and Revelations awhile ago and am now on The Van Alen Legacy. And I'm almost done with that too! I'm addicted to the Blue Bloods series! I didn't get around to writing the review for Masquerade or Revelations because of moving, but since I've already moved and am now just waiting for the boxes to come so I'm writing the reviews now. :) I hear that the graphic novel is being made for Blue Bloods too! Yay!

Book Cover:

Review:
Masquerade was an amazing addition to the Blue Bloods series. It's absolutely wonderful. It keeps you guessing and waiting with some mysteries. Here Schuyler finds out she has new cool abilities that she had no idea she could do, there's a new blue blood, and a lot of trouble (as usual).

Melissa de la Cruz. I gotta thank you for creating this group of vampires. Go Blue Bloods! hehe Oh and wonderful love triangle Melissa. Team Jack all the way! :P Seriously love the ball and party! It was wonderfully written. Also, her description of the art in Venice was wonderful. Melissa obviously knows quite a lot about fashion. This series has actually inspired me to work harder on becoming a model. I really admire Melissa now.

The ideas Melissa has come up with are amazing for these stories, like everything that has happened and how Lawrence is a rare breed of the Blue Bloods. Lawrence some how seems to me like a wonderful grandfather - though not the best, but wonderful (do I say the word 'wonderful' a lot?) still.

Schuyler is so lucky to have a mother like Allegra - not because she is in a coma, but because she is Gabrielle, the Uncorrupted! One of the two archangels who came down from heaven of her own will.  Also, her mother still looks out for her even if she's only in a coma. Schuyler is a lot of what I assume Allegra would be like. Strong, brave, understanding, beautiful, talented, and a million other wonderful traits.

Mimi makes me so mad. Gosh, I know she's always been bonded with Jack in other cycles, but can't she just allow Schuyler to be with him this one time?! Or allow them to at least hang out?! So not fair! However, she is Azrael, the Angle of Death, so they ought to be careful.

Jack. Oh Jack. Why can't you just tell Mimi that you don't love her like that? Why aren't you brave enough to be with Schuyler? You're so in love with her and yet you won't leave Mimi. I understand that she's your bond mate, but really? You can bond with her later. Stay with Schuyler for now! I mean, you're Abbadon! The Angel of Destruction! What have you to fear?! Mimi?! I think not! She loves you too much to hurt you. She'll hurt Schuyler and you know it! Just be a man and stand up to her!

Okay. I needa calm down. I'm getting too worked up. So all together I loved this story. It was amazing.

Rating
Did this meet my high expectations? Of course it did! This should be a movie! And of course I'd like to star as Schuyler hehehe. But I most likely wouldn't and there are plenty of others who could play her (probably far far better than I could, after all they are actresses, but I wanna be one too!).
Would I recommend this book and to who? Yes I would. I'd recommend it to everyone who enjoys reading a fun YA novel. Or anything paranormal or romantic or myserious.

That's it! Hope you guys read the series! Bye!

Hourglass Review

Hey guys! I finished the book, Hourglass by Myra McEntire awhile ago. I'm finally getting around to writing the review. :D There is one other book in this series and one more coming out in 2013. Can't wait to get my hands on them

Book Cover:

Book Review:
Hourglass is such an original book. And I'm so glad Myra McEntire wrote and published Emerson's story. I understand why she'd think she's crazy because I would think I were crazy too if I were in her position. I don't think I'd be able to go out in public if I were her. She's so brave. Especially with what happened to her parents and what's going on. I'm surprised the thought of suicide hasn't even crossed her mind!

The cover is gorgeous. I've heard a lot of good comments about Hourglass and that made me want to read it, but I never did. The cover of the book is what actually really caught my eye and made me read it. I know, I know. Don't judge a book by its cover. I'm guilty of that crime.

I love Michael and Kaleb so much! I want them both. Hehehe. I love boys in books cause they just seem so much better there! (comparing to those I've met in really life not talking bout the whole population)

Kaleb is such a sweet and understanding boy - I mean man - with a I suppose similar story as Emerson. This is only because of what happened to their parents. I feel awful for them both. No one should have to feel that pain.

Michael's decision makes me so mad! Why on Earth would he do that to Em?! No. HOW could he do that to her! I got that there was Kaleb but really?! I can't believe him! Of course he did it only for the better good so it's forgivable. I cried when this happened. If you have read it or will read it I think you know or will know what scene I'm talking about.

Rating
Did this meet my high expectations? Yes it definitely did! It was great!
Would I recommend this book and to who? Of course I would recommend this! I love it! I think all YA lovers/fans, paranormal readers, and romance fans should definitely read this! If you like or love any of these you really should/need to read this! :)

Alright, that's it! Bye!

Prophecy of the Sisters Review

Hey guys! I finished the book Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink awhile back but never got to actually right the review so I'm doing this now! :P I would be reading the next book in the series but I was silly and packed it in the shipping box instead of laying it aside. I have all three books in the series. :P There are three novellas in this series too! I can't wait to find them. I think I might go hunt them down soon.

Book Cover:

Review:
The book was amazing! There are so many mysteries and I love to guess what the answer to the mystery is so I just keep trying to figure it out and then there would be a turn in the road and you find out you're wrong and oh it's just so thrilling! :D I feel soo soo bad for Lia with what happens to the men in her life. I wish she would tell James. I don't know how she stays so calm. I'd be freaking out if I were in her place. I still secretly wish I were in her place though, no matter how awful it'd be.

With Alice... I thought she was a great sister in the beginning, because all everyone has flaws and no matter how distant she may be she still is kind to Lia... Well in the beginning that is. After a while, I started to feel hatred in her. How could she do what she's done?! To their cat?! To Henry?! To LIA?! Gosh... She just made me so mad.

Lia is sweet and so loving. She's a typical nice-girl-with-weird-thing-going-on-and-has-no-idea-what-to-do YA character I suppose. But still amazing. Of course there are characteristics that some others don't have.

Michelle Zink is so imaginative. I wish I could come up with something as good as this! I love this book. I honestly feel like this should become a movie! :P And like nearly every fangirl I would love to act in it as Lia! Of course I wouldn't mind being Alice. Okay, back to the story.

The description was great. There weren't any spelling mistakes or grammatical ones - yes I've read books that had some! Her characters were perfect.

I love the cliffhanger in the end! It made me want to grab the next book and find out what happens right away, but like I said I couldn't.

Rating
Did this meet my high expectations? Yeah it did. Michelle did an amazing job.

Would I recommend this and to who? Yes I would. Anyone who loves YA, mysteries or paranormal should read this.

That's it! Bye!

Little Update

Hiya!

So first off, the boxes are on their way to India right now. So... Um.. Yeah... Everythings gone! (Except for what I'm taking with me on the plane - ex. clothes, some art supplies ^_^, books, etc.)

Next, I've been writing! Well, ofcourse I'm always writing. :P But I've been posting stories here. Hehe. I've been entering contests and stuff. Anyways be part of my SW/AP family? Just send me a message there. Oh and you need an account. :P In case you didn't know.... SW - StoryWrite.... AP - AllPoetry. Yes, I write poems too! >.<

Next is..... ART! Yay! hahaha. So about art... I've been drawing a TON recently. Sadly I shipped my printer/scanner so I can't scan them and post em. :( But here's a little preview of what you can expect to be seen. It's a lot of OCs.. New ones too! I'll tell you their names. hehe. So there's Juliet (the heartbreaker haha), Taylor (the writer), and Will (the uh... yeah book nerd?). There'll be more. :P This picture only shows some of the drawings. :) Excited? Let me know.

Kitty surrounded by fairies, A couple, and Juliet writing a 'Dear John' letter. :P

Next is another OC, but she'll be in another series... I think... Yes. She'll be in another series. Her name is... Ruby. Tell  me what you think! I JUST drew her! hehehe
She could use some editing, who agrees?

Ok, next.... Oh right! I got this! I absolutely ADORE it! :P My name writing Taylor Swift's handwriting! EKK! I know it's probably not that big of a deal for you guys, but it's HUGE to me. :)
Um... Next is I just bought two new things! Woo Hoo! hahaha. I don't really buy new things that often or talk about it, but I have to talk about this. The first thing is what I have to talk about. I don't really care about the second, but still love it. hehe. So the first is...... SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR DVD + CD! Ekkk! I'm listening to the CD right now actually. :P Can you believe Taylor is coming out with a NEW fragrance! This is the second chapter in the Wonderstruck story, hahaha. This is one is called, "Wonderstruck Enchanted". Just lovely. :) Ok, now back to what I bought. The second thing is a PS3 game called Alice Madness Returns. :D

Ok, I think that should be it... If I think of anything else I'll tell you. :) Bye!
